How it Works
Here’s how the Conrad Press trade in process works.
Step #1 Send Us Pictures of Your Press
Start by sending us clear photos and a brief description of your current press, including its condition and any known issues. This helps us get an accurate understanding of the machine and begin the evaluation process quickly.
We would like a few pictures of the entire press along with pictures of the serial number / name tags and any damaged areas you may know of.
Step #2 Decide Which New Press You Want
Tell us which press you’re interested in upgrading to, so we can match your needs with the right machine. We can also provide recommendations based on your studio, techniques, and long-term goals.
Step #3 We Evaluate Your Press
Our team carefully reviews your press based on its condition, model, and overall usability. This evaluation allows us to determine a fair and accurate trade-in value.
Step #4 You Get a Trade-In Credit Toward a New Press
Once the evaluation is complete, we provide a trade-in credit that can be applied toward the purchase of your new press. We will also arrange for the shipping of your old press back to our factory, saving you time and money.
Press Size Upgrades
From Small to Large.
Interested in Getting a Large Press? We Can Help!
Many artists start out with smaller presses based on their current needs and budget, but they quickly outgrow them and need a bigger press.
The Conrad Machine used printmaking press trade-in program allows artists, colleges, and professional studios to upgrade their equipment by trading in an existing press toward the purchase of a new one.
If you have a smaller press and want to get a larger press for your studio, contact us. Instead of trying to sell your press, we can take it in on trade towards a new, larger press.

Printmaking Studio Upgrades
Make Room for a New Press.
Many universities need to sell or dispose of their older presses to make room in their studio for new equipment. Either because of age or renovations, the older presses need to be replaced.
Selling or disposing of old, large floor model etching or lithography printmaking press on the open market can prove be quite difficult. Potential buyers may not be willing to ship the press long distances and you may not have the resources to transport the press yourself. Not to mention—if you find a buyer, you may not be able sell it for what it’s worth.
That is why Conrad Machine Co. accepts traded-in presses toward the purchase of a new press. If your university has an older press and would like to upgrade or purchase a new press, we will allow you to trade in your old press toward the purchase a new press. Even if your press is broken, we will accept it as a trade-in toward the purchase of a new press.
We accept trade-ins on printmaking presses made by any manufacturer–not just presses built by Conrad Machine Co.
