Take a closer look.
The Conrad floor model lithography press is built for serious printmaking, with multiple sizes available to handle everything from standard work to large-format projects. Whether you’re printing from litho stones or metal plates these presses are designed to deliver consistent, professional results.
Every press is constructed with heavy-duty, all-steel components, giving it the strength and durability needed for high-pressure lithography. Backed by decades of experience, the design is proven to be reliable, precise, and built to last—making it a trusted choice for studios, schools, and professional printmakers.

Press Double Reduction Chain Drive System
Double the Smooth.

Conrad Press Reduction Drive
The Conrad floor model litho press uses a double reduction chain drive system designed to keep the bed moving smooth, steady, and controlled from start to finish.
Instead of relying on a simple direct drive, this system reduces the speed in stages while increasing torque. The result is a smooth, even bed travel that’s critical for lithography, where consistency directly affects image quality.
This controlled movement helps maintain uniform pressure under the scraper bar, so your image transfers cleanly and evenly across the entire surface. There’s no jerky motion or sudden changes—just a steady, predictable glide that makes printing easier and more reliable.
The chain drive is also heavy-duty and built to last, designed to handle continuous use without losing performance. It’s simple, durable, and easy to maintain—making it ideal for busy studios and long print runs.
Disengagement Drive Clutch Drive
The Conrad floor model litho press features a disengagement drive clutch that gives you more control over how the press operates.
With a quick, simple action, you can disengage the drive system, allowing the bed to move freely by hand. This makes it easy to position the bed, adjust your setup, or work from one side of the press without having to turn the drive wheel.
When you’re ready to print, just re-engage the clutch and return to smooth, controlled operation.
Pressure System
Easy to Activate.
The Conrad floor model litho press uses a top-loading scraper bar holder built from heavy, welded steel for maximum strength and durability. It’s designed to stay solid and stable, even under high pressure.
Pressure is applied using a single lever toggle system, making it quick and easy to engage while still giving you strong, controlled force across the image.
The pressure adjustment is handled by a large 1.25″ Acme-thread screw, paired with a long bronze nut for smooth, precise movement. A built-in locking feature keeps your settings in place, so once you dial in the pressure, it stays consistent from print to print.
It’s a simple, rugged system that delivers reliable pressure and consistent image transfer, even during long runs.

Press Roller System
Professional Glide.
The Conrad floor model litho press is built for smooth, accurate printing from end to end—and that starts with the roll and bed support system.
The main support roll is machined from a solid 6″ diameter piece of tempered steel, giving it the strength to stay perfectly true under pressure. It’s mounted in self-aligning, anti-friction bearings, so it runs smooth and stays properly aligned without added maintenance.
Supporting the bed are eight adjustable steel rollers, which carry the bed as it moves in and out of the press. These can be fine-tuned to keep the bed perfectly level and parallel to the main roll, ensuring even pressure across the entire printing surface.
You can also make small adjustments to control how the bed sits as it travels, helping you dial in the feel and alignment for your specific setup.
The result is a system that delivers smooth movement, precise alignment, and consistent pressure—key for clean, professional lithographic prints.

Press Bed Stops
Safe printing = Smart printing
Safety and control are built right into the design—and positive bed stops are a big part of that.
These stops act as firm limits that prevent the bed from traveling too far, so it can’t accidentally roll off the press. On a large, heavy bed, that kind of protection is essential for both the operator and the machine.
To make things even better, the stops are fitted with rubber bumpers, which gently cushion the bed as it reaches the end of its travel. Instead of a hard stop, you get a smooth, controlled finish that reduces impact and wear over time.
Press Frame
Engineered. Rock Solid.
The Conrad floor model litho press is built on a solid steel frame designed to stay strong and perfectly aligned during printing. Thick steel plates are reinforced and cross-braced throughout, so the press remains stable and doesn’t shift under pressure.
The legs include leveling screws, making it easy to get the press set up flat and balanced for accurate printing. Once it’s adjusted, it stays solid and dependable.

There’s also an optional storage shelf beneath the lower roll, giving you a convenient place to keep tools and materials close by without cluttering your workspace.
Press Bearings
So So Smooth.
Our bearings are built to do more than just keep things moving—they’re designed to handle far beyond what the press will ever demand.
These are self-aligning, anti-friction bearings, which means they automatically stay centered as the press operates. Even under heavy pressure, they adjust to maintain proper alignment, keeping everything running smooth and reducing resistance as the bed moves through the press.
What really sets them apart is their strength. These bearings are rated for well over five times the pressure of normal printing conditions.
The result is maintenance-free performance for decades—with bearings that keep the press running quiet, stable, and dependable every time you print.

Caster Wheels
The Conrad floor model litho press can be equipped with heavy-duty caster wheels, giving you the flexibility to move a large press without sacrificing stability.
These aren’t standard casters—they’re built to handle the full weight of the press while still rolling smoothly when you need to reposition it. This makes it easy to adjust your studio layout, clean around the press, or relocate it within the space.
When it’s time to print, all of the casters lock securely in place, keeping the press solid and stable. There’s no shifting or movement, so you still get the consistent pressure and precise control needed for high-quality lithography.

Lithographic Scraper Bars
The scraper bar is one of the most important parts of a lithography press—it’s what actually applies pressure to transfer the image. Conrad scraper bars are designed to deliver smooth, even pressure, helping you get clean, consistent prints every time.
We offer scraper bars in 2″ increments, so you can choose the exact size you need for your work. Whether you’re printing smaller plates or larger stones, having the right width bar helps ensure proper pressure across the image area.
You can purchase individual bars to match specific projects, or go with a full set for maximum flexibility in the studio. Having multiple sizes on hand makes it easy to switch between different formats without compromising print quality.
Tympan
Conrad offers tympan in two high-quality materials: polycarbonate and G-10—each with its own advantages depending on how you like to work.
Polycarbonate tympan is smooth, durable, and slightly more flexible. It glides easily under the scraper bar, making it a great choice for general lithography work and consistent, even pressure across the image.
G-10 tympan is more rigid and extremely tough. It offers a firmer feel under pressure, which some printmakers prefer for more demanding work or when they want a more direct transfer.
Both options are built to handle repeated use while maintaining their shape and performance. Whether you choose polycarbonate or G-10, you’re getting a tympan that supports reliable pressure control and professional-quality image transfer.
