“I’m a very new user of Conrad Presses and inherited/traded for this Dickerson (Conrad) electric combination press from the school that I teach at, The Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. I needed two parts replaced and it was done with precision by Conrad Machine Co. I love it so far, it has consistent pressure and, even with a composite press bed, prints as well as the other presses I have used in the past with metal beds.”

Bio
Todd Mrozinski acquired his BFA from MIAD, The Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design in 1997 where he was the recipient of a Fredrick Layton Scholarship and attended The New York Studio Program. Mrozinski was the 2015-16 Pfister Artist-in-Residence and exhibits his work at Portrait Society Gallery, Milwaukee, WI.
He was a contributing art writer for Urban Milwaukee and Artdose Magazine, is a MARN Mentor and teaches etching, drawing and painting at MIAD. He and his wife, Renee Bebeau, have a studio in The Nut Factory in Milwaukee, WI.
Artist Statement
Walks are treasure hunts of light and shadow, object and place. The majority of my work’s inspiration comes from daily walks around my Riverwest, WI neighborhood. As I walk, I collect photos of these moments. Working from images enables me to meditate on the nuances and intricacies of an instant and share that mystery with the viewer.
I’m drawn to trees that seem to be imbued with spirit and alleys at sunset after a summer rain. Recently, I have been making etchings of stumps and I am amazed by the life and growth around this transforming remnant, a headstone reminder of life’s process and constant transformation. I make portraits of the often overlooked, momentary wonders of walking revelations.
