"I love the American French Tool Press! It is a work of art itself. I found it very easy to set up and use. The press has worked flawlessly over the years I have been using it. It is very easy to prepare the press for a print run.
I am very impressed with the consistency of the prints and the fine adjustments I can make with the press to bring out the subtleties of the plates I make using the double exposure method with an aquatint screen.
I bought the American French Tool Press new from Conrad Machine Company because I needed a really high quality etching press to use with my research and testing when I began to adapt my Precision Digital Negatives/Positives System to Photopolymer Gravure. Artist Statement
Mark Nelson is a fine art photographer and printmaker living in Elgin, Illinois. He prints his beautiful images with the Photopolymer Gravure Process and the Platinum/Palladium Process. Mark uses the American French Tool Tabletop Etching Press to print his Photopolymer Gravures.
Mark is the Author of Precision Digital Negatives for Silver and Other Alternative Photographic Processes. He has written articles for books and magazines and has taught his method of printing with digital negatives and positives to hundreds of photographers and printmakers.
