"My new Conrad Combo C-25 press is perfect for an eclectic approach to printmaking. It is flexible for both etching and litho and will handle any medium from thin copper plate to a thick crib for letterpress type. It is portable and fit down the stairs and through the doorways into my basement studio, and Conrad Machine accommodated my weight concerns by making it with lighter rollers. It is affordable even with all the accessories. And it is motor driven!"

It all clicked for me during the last printmaking project in the intermediate lithography class during my last semester at art school. One of my goals for art school was to figure out how to use my photography. I couldn't make it work with painting other than as source inspiration. But I discovered that with multi print media I could manipulate digital images and layer them with intaglio, letterpress, lithography, screen printing and drawing. Voila!
This series of prints celebrates presses old and new, large and small. Old are the wooden letterpress type from the Wenatchee World used decades ago for job printing. New is my new etching/litho press made by Conrad Machine Company. Large is the web-fed press that prints Wenatchee's newspaper in a former apple-packing warehouse. Small is my studio in the basement where my press is installed. With each print I interpreted, combined and printed multi print media in a new way.

These prints are my first serious printmaking since art school. I am filled with euphoria and pride, and eager to begin the next multi print media project with all the capability of this new press limited only by imagination.
